Oh no I'm kinda stuck with my laptop not working an all. my showreel was on that harddrive so now I've got no way of burning it on cd. kinda serves me right for not backing it up months earlier. I've only got my folio but it doesn't have any of my recent stuff printed off there was 3gigs of my work on that hdd that i had ready to backup and burn to disk. I finally got dell to look at it, but it's too late for my hdd. :( as soon as it's repaired I'll be rebuilding what i lost and starting my animations again *sigh* oh well :P.

I'm also scared :) the building size alone frightens me. I need more experience with max first, gotta build up to a good standard, I always think I'm going to do something really stupid when I go for interviews heh... problem is I usually do say something um stupid *looks side to side*.

Submitted by Daemin on Thu, 06/02/03 - 2:15 AM Permalink

Dang, sorry to hear about the laptop. Kinda shows you the fragility of modern data in a way, also tells you that we need to backup more often than we actually do.

Oh well, i'm sure you'll be able to create something as - or even more - impressive than what you lost.

Auran, Pandemic, Microforte

Forum

I was just checking out the usual Australian game developer sites when I came accross new openings, Auran is hiring for the first time in ages, including many artist positions. Pandemic, Microforte, Krome and other still have positions open too.

I guess always around this time they are looking for new comers, like every year there's a flood (well not quite a flood) of new job openings at all Australian Studios.

Submitted by souri on Thu, 14/11/02 - 3:56 PM Permalink

Thanks for the report. I'll post this on the main page. Yes, Microforte have been hiring for a while, and I think a lot of studios like Krome have a 'always looking' policy.. Anyway, here's the Auran job post below for those who clicked the link on the main page... source : http://www.auran.com/auran/careers.htm

Ben of Pandemic was sort of the opinion that he had not started to look for more people yet... perhaps Daemin had seen an old job post?

Submitted by Daemin on Sat, 16/11/02 - 11:39 PM Permalink

I saw what was on the website, so if its old on there, then I saw the old one. Perhaps a little bit of attention to the website would be in order?

The positions don't say whether they're for the US or Aussie office, so that's where the confusion may lay.
