Senior QA Tester

The Senior QA Tester is responsible for ensuring the QA team follows quality guidelines and processes during the development of a game, and management of internal and external bug databases. This position will report directly to the QA Manager.

Lead Programmer

Lead Artist

The Lead Artist is responsible for managing the art team in production and refinement of assets. It is also their responsibility to allocate resources (both people and time) per project. This position will report directly to the Art Director.

? Develop and maintain style guide and art pipeline documents?
? Determine asset completion assessment
? Input into technology features and game design
? Manage day to day activities of the art team

Requirements:-

? Significant game industry experience with experience in a lead role
? Ability to schedule in MS Project

? Proven ability in at least two of the following: 3D environment creation, character and/or prop modeling, user interface design, pre-visualization, graphic design, particle FX, MEL script/

Sound Engineer

The Sound Engineer is responsible for planning and creating all activities related to sound. This position will report directly to the Director of Design.

Position:-

? Implementation of supplied music tracks
? Editing and implementation of VO tracks
? Creation and implementation of sound assets
? Responsibility for the entire audio environment
? Frequent communication with production team

Requirements:-

? Audio industry experience including two completed titles
? Experience in audio production and implementation using sound editing software
? Understanding of Music and composition is an advantage but is not required
? A knowledge of the art and science of telling a story with sound

Senior Game Designer

The Senior Game Designer is responsible for creative writing, object placement and scripting/implementation of the world in a game structure. We are looking for a motivated 3D Artist/Developer to work in our Wellington, New Zealand studio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The 3D Artist/Developer will take responsibility for the design and build of a range of projects. Projects can vary in scope so the 3D Artist/Developer may be required to:

- Develop 3D content including models, textures and shaders for use in OpenGL based 3D engines

- Develop rapid prototypes for testing and sign-off

- Liaise with designers and contractors to develop interactive solutions

- Create procedural and generative visualisation and user-interaction feedback systems, both general and specific

- Assist with the setup and support of the studio network and computer systems and rendering pipeline

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and practical background, complemented with an inquisitive, creative mind, strong lateral thinking skills, and the ability to see beyond practical bounds. Character Concept Artist

We are currently seeking the talents and creative vision a senior Character Concept Artists.

You will have worked in a similar role on a recent game, film or TV show and should have work that demonstrates an outstanding ability to deliver stylistically and technically excellent creature & character designs that focus on creativity, plausible anatomy and ideas that will work beyond a simple sketch. You will be able to demonstrate skills from rough staging sketches through to painted reference that our art team can work from. The ability to work to a brief and follow a tight process without compromising the core ideas is also essential.

Strong technical art skills are highly desired with a good understanding of colour theory, perspective, drafting, lighting etc being hugely beneficial, use of industry standard tools such as Photoshop is also a requirement.

Senior Designer

At Irrational we take game design very seriously. You should be familiar with the current state of the art in game design across a wide range of genres on both PC and console. You should be capable of analysing and critiquing game designs and using that analysis to inform your own design sensibilities. We expect you to be familiar with Irrational products and be able to speak critically about them.
This position requires a high degree of creativity. You will be required to form a "vision" of the game and use that vision to inform your design decisions. An important part of the role is then communicating that vision clearly and concisely to the rest of the team and ensuring that they have a clear and specific mandate for their work. You must also provide a receptive ear so that other team members can provide input on the game design and feel that it is paid attention to.

Finally, there are a wide variety of miscellaneous other tasks associated with this position such as speaking at conferences, working on game documentation and manuals and PR duties.

You must have a superb knowledge of C/C++, OO principles, shader language and general rendering technologies that has been demonstrated in recently released console titles.
An acute understanding of the 3D graphics research areas including particles, fluid, fog, cloth and screen space effects along with how to utilize and optimize these technologies in games is essential.
