Producer

As a producer here at Irrational, you will be responsible for supervising a development team to deliver a game on schedule, on budget and to quality. You will also be responsible for liaising with the publisher or distribution partner and other third parties.

We believe that a successful game producer is the heart of the development team. You must primarily be a "people person", capable of organizing, inspiring and dealing with conflict in a group of creative people.

You must be capable of understanding the development process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and on time. You must be aware of the tensions inherent in managing a creative process to deliver a product on time and to budget and be capable of balancing the competing interests of quality and timely delivery. Irrational believes that great game producers must be capable of thinking on their feet and of responding flexibly to an ever-changing development environment.

Essential requirements:
? Minimum five years experience in the games industry
? Must have shipped multiple titles
? Experience managing a large scale software development project (20+ development staff over 2+ years)
? Experience shipping console game titles including dealing with manufacturer approval processes
? Understanding of key technical issues involved with console and PC game development
? Experience with scheduling tools
? Experience managing a project budget
? Excellent people skills including the ability to motivate people and inspire their creative talents
? Experience managing conflict
? Experience in risk analysis and mitigation
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Strong problem solving skills

Character Concept Artist

We are currently seeking the talents and creative vision a senior Character Concept Artists.

You will have worked in a similar role on a recent game, film or TV show and should have work that demonstrates an outstanding ability to deliver stylistically and technically excellent creature & character designs that focus on creativity, plausible anatomy and ideas that will work beyond a simple sketch. You will be able to demonstrate skills from rough staging sketches through to painted reference that our art team can work from. The ability to work to a brief and follow a tight process without compromising the core ideas is also essential.

Strong technical art skills are highly desired with a good understanding of colour theory, perspective, drafting, lighting etc being hugely beneficial, use of industry standard tools such as Photoshop is also a requirement.

You must be a superb, pro-active communicator who is happy to take direction and through example communicate that message clearly to the rest of the art and level construction team.

Senior Designer

At Irrational we take game design very seriously. You should be familiar with the current state of the art in game design across a wide range of genres on both PC and console. You should be capable of analysing and critiquing game designs and using that analysis to inform your own design sensibilities. We expect you to be familiar with Irrational products and be able to speak critically about them.
This position requires a high degree of creativity. You will be required to form a "vision" of the game and use that vision to inform your design decisions. An important part of the role is then communicating that vision clearly and concisely to the rest of the team and ensuring that they have a clear and specific mandate for their work. You must also provide a receptive ear so that other team members can provide input on the game design and feel that it is paid attention to.

Finally, there are a wide variety of miscellaneous other tasks associated with this position such as speaking at conferences, working on game documentation and manuals and PR duties.

Visual FX Coder

We are currently seeking the talents and technical expertise of a Visual Effects Coder.
You must have a superb knowledge of C/C++, OO principles, shader language and general rendering technologies that has been demonstrated in recently released console titles.
An acute understanding of the 3D graphics research areas including particles, fluid, fog, cloth and screen space effects along with how to utilize and optimize these technologies in games is essential.

This role will require you to work closely with the art team so a good working knowledge of content creation tools is a big plus, in particular 3DS max & Unreal 3 Editor.
Communicating your specialist knowledge is of utmost importance so you must be a team player who is equally comfortable dealing with creative and technical colleagues.
