Tin Man Games is a Melbourne-based studio seeking a programmer for a short-term (4ish-months) contract to help us with our new, original IP. We're known for titles such as Warhammer Underworlds: Online, Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown, and Warlock of Firetop Mountain.
A bit about you:
You're a generalist or gameplay programmer with at least one game released or a portfolio of complete, personal projects that clearly demonstrate your skills (please include your role and contributions to each project). You enjoy working as part of a small, high-performing team. You would be happy to contribute to design and tech meetings, while also possessing the professionalism to trust other team members to carry out their design and development tasks.
You will be:
- Working remotely, ideally within Australia
- A key member of a small team of developers
- Helping Steel Sky Productions develop a brand new original IP
- Working with a designer to deliver new gameplay features and content using Unity and Bolt
- Creating new tools and functionality for use by designers and QA in Unity and Bolt
- Testing and bug-fixing gameplay features
- Responsible for breaking down tasks and estimations, with support from production
You’ll need to have experience with the following:
- Working with Unity & C# to develop video games
- Working as a part of a team, but have the initiative and self-motivation to complete your tasks
- Ability to familiarise yourself with an existing code base and own it
- Extending functionality of visual scripting tools (ideally Bolt, but Blueprints or similar is fine) and ensuring these functions are suitable for use by a design team
- Using source control (ideally Git, but SVN, Perforce, or similar is fine)
Bonus points if you have any of these:
- Familiarity with any of the following: Trello, Confluence, JIRA
- Experience in networking or multiplayer game development
- Interest in tactical strategy games and/or MOBAs (Wargroove, Fire Emblem, League of Legends, DOTA2, etc.)
