We’re seeking a System Administrator to join our team at our office in Auckland, New Zealand.

As one of our system administrators you will be responsible for supporting our online titles as well as our internal server infrastructure within our office. You will also help maintain and improve the tooling and automation required by these systems.

To be considered you will need to have at least three years experience managing servers in a production environment, as well as a strong background in implementing server-related automation (e.g. deployment and maintenance-related tasks). You also must be willing to be on-call on rotation - Two days in lieu will be credited at the end of your rostered on-call week. If a call out occurs outside your usual working hours, you'll be paid time and a half for the time spent working

Full time position - 40 hours a week

The position includes the following duties:

  • Performing system administration and maintenance tasks related to Windows and Linux server and workstation machines, including both internal and external servers.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support when needed.

Technologies used in this role - the more of these (or similar products) you have experience with, the better:

  • Microsoft and Linux distributions (Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc)
  • Python
  • Bash
  • Zabbix
  • NGINX
  • PostgreSQL
  • Configuration management (e.g. Ansible)

Experience with the following is helpful:

  • Cloud technology including managing VMs via APIs and infrastructure automation
  • System diagnostics, troubleshooting server faults, and performance analysis
  • Benchmarking, load testing, and performance profiling experience
  • Log analysis and monitoring tools
  • Compiling packages from source and creating custom debs/rpms
  • Continuous integration (e.g. Buildbot)
  • Server capacity planning and resource optimization
  • Our game, Path of Exile
  • Understanding of C++ applications and debugging tools
