Unity Developer

Location: Remote (AEST/AEDT working hours highly preferred)

Type: Full-time

Role Overview:

In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our existing gaming titles (such as our flagship title, The Lords of Light) and expanding your skills while working on new titles at Raini Studios. This position demands a combination of technical expertise, a desire to learn and grow as a developer, and a passion for game development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Unity development, with a strong preference for interest in multiplayer and cross-platform game development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the team on development of new games from concept to launch, working closely with the Art and Design teams ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
• Enhance and maintain existing game titles, implementing new features and optimizing performance.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and other developers to create compelling gameplay experiences.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest gaming trends, technologies, and Unity development practices.
• Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devising solutions to address and mitigate these problems.
• Participate in code reviews, contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in game development, with some level of experience in Unity development.
• An interest/desire to develop multiplayer and/or cross-platform games.
• Fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming, data driven design and development, design patterns, and game development best practices.
• Experience with version control tools, such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• A portfolio of shipped games or game projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, OR relevant experience
• Experience with network programming, server architecture, and cloud services.
• Experience in mobile game development (iOS and Android) and related skills, such as IAPs, Analytics, Ads.
• Passion for creating engaging and innovative gaming experiences.
• An interest in Trading Card Games (TCGs), either digital or physical.
• An understanding of the opportunities afforded to design, and production, utilising the latest tools and technologies such as AI and Blockchain.
