Because the participation levels of speed paints were pretty low (probably due to the fact that it requires people to be free and here at a certain date and time), I'm thinking of taking the activity in another direction.
The new activity would be somewhat like the modeller challenge where someone posts a topic, and we'll have 2 weeks to paint our interpretation of it. We can each post a thread like "Activity #1 - yourname" and update our images along the way, so we can see how each other work. You can spend as much or as little time as you want with it, just have something we can all look at at the end. It'll be a small, fun, creative activity for everyone, with no voting required.
I'm leaning towards this idea rather than speed paints because by then end of those two weeks, and depending on how far you take it, you could have something you could use (portfolio, website etc).
I've noticed that there are a fair few graphics tablet users here, so here's a chance to flex ya pens! Anyway, it's all for a bit of fun, so give me a yay or nay!
Sounds good! You can start anytime you like. Make sure your pictures are 800x600, and you make your own thread as mentioned above. Activity #1 - yourname. I hope everyone joins in. You can spend as much or as little time on it as you like. From experimental quick scribbles to finished pieces, I want to see it all!

anyway. i would love to give it a go.
Yeah I love Anry's stuff. Thanks for the link as well. I've only ever seen Anry's work on www.gfxartist.com. If you like Anry you should probably check out GFX, it has alot of great artists in the Elite Members sections. You should also check the top 25 pictures section (called G-spot). Great tutorials too.
As for the drawing activity I'd start it tonight but I'm going to see Something for Kate Live[:)], so I'll start tomorrow[:D].
okay. i guess that i will post what i have figured out from the other posts. anyone feel free to change it if i am wrong.
Theme
. Boardroom.
Rules
. Futuristic or ultra-moden style.
. Should look very expensive. So expensive that you wouldn't even want to pass wind in there.
. Must be an interior view. Should try to have a window(s) to show the outside. this will allow the artist to show the city or countryside.
. Figures/characters may be placed in the scene, but remember that the set is what is important.
. Hand drawn sketches or other templates may be used for a base, but it should actually be painted using a painting or photo editing package. This means that you cannot create a set in 3D, paint the textures and then render it. This is a 2D comp.
No time limit has been anounced, so take your time and enjoy.

I'm getting my WACOM Graphire 3 6 x 8 in 2-3 days. I have an interview/portfolio presentation with a Uni on 4 november so I might start working on this when I get my WACOM and put it in my portfolio so I kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Otherwise I'll start it after Nov 4.
