3D Modeller

First Xbox MMOG
$$ negotiable

Micro Forte Sydney is currently developing the first Xbox exclusive Massively Multiplayer Online Game. Do you want your models to touch the minds of over 100,000 people? Cool, we need a sadistic looking brain probe modelled in twelve polygons... Your job is to construct low-polygon models that not only look fantastic but work within the constraints of the game engine. You will be required to build items, creatures and scenery models within 3DSMAX. As a guide, our character models are around 3000 polys. You will be working closely with the Lead Artist, and Art Director creating the details that bring our breathtaking environments to life.
Texturing skills are definitely a bonus.

Requirements

Extensive 3DSMAX skills
Character Studio
A showreel demonstrating low polygon modelling and texturing ability (nothing cartoony please)
Ability to model and texture to a given style and direction

Desirable

Games Industry or Mod Experience
Photoshop / painter skills
Photorealistic modelling /texturing skills
Level design and construction
2D life drawing skills
Animation skills
Enjoys working in a team
Avid gamer

Application and Portfolio Guidelines

Online portfolios or CDs are fine. You will be required to provide a full portfolio at interview stage. Please supply examples of low poly models and scenes, including mesh renders, textures, and 2D hand rendered art. Subject matter we are interested in includes scenery (cityscapes as well as outdoor), items and weapons, characters and animals. Please provide polygon count information, and text explaining what parts are your work if the examples are from games or other group work. You will need to be prepared to do a modelling test in 3DS MAX as part of our interview process.

Senior Animator

Micro Forte Sydney is currently developing the first Xbox exclusive Massively Multiplayer Online Game. The position is with the BigWorld development team in Sydney creating world class animations for Massively Multi-player Games. Bring the creatures and characters to life in beautiful virtual worlds where thousands of players adventure together. You will be working closely with the Art Director and Lead Artist.
The successful applicant must be fast and fluent in Character Studio and 3DSMAX. Showreel must demonstrate firm understanding of weight, follow through, overlapping action, timing and spacing. 2D animation skills, and experience in animating for games or game mods a bonus.

Requirements

Demonstrated outstanding ability in animation with realistic animations using 3DSMAX and Character Studio
Ability to estimate animation times and work to production deadlines
Good team skills

Desirable

Games Industry or Mod Experience
2D animation
Strong technical knowledge of animation techniques, and real time 3D animation issues
3D modelling / texturing
Experience working with motion capture
Being an avid Gamer

This role offers a rare opportunity to be involved in making original, beautiful online worlds. You will organise and manage a team of up to 15 artists, creating the art content for the game. You will be responsible for establishing production schedules and task lists, managing the art team on a day-to-day basis, maintaining the artistic consistency and overall quality of the art content, conducting risk analysis of the art "pipeline" and providing guidance to members of the art team.

Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to manage an art team to tight deadlines
Good working knowledge of 3DSMAX 3.0 or later and Character Studio
Knowledge of spreadsheets and project management software
Outstanding team skills

Desirable:

Games Industry Experience
