Fans hungry for news on Gaelic Football 2005 will be either happy or dismayed to know that the game will be a Playstation 2 exclusive, and that they will have to endure a wait until perhaps Christmas to get their fix of the wacky sport...
The game - designed by the Aussie company - will be fully licensed by the GAA and will be exclusively released on the Playstation 2 console.As such, the brand new game will not be available either on the X-box or PC.
The game is to be called ?Gaelic Football 2005? and will feature all 32 counties plus New York and London battling it out for provincial and All-Ireland championship honours plus NFL silverware.
Apart from GAA fans, the new game is expected to have a wide appeal for all those interested in games technology as there will be Real-time lighting, 3D graphics, motion capture animation, shadows on players and all the attendant mud and bandages that go with hotly contested games.

Gaelic should be with afl 2005 or 2006 whateva they r calling it. . . like at the end of the year they pick a team to go to irland and u play as them liek an all star team
no it shouldn't considering that Gaelic football is primarily being released for the Irish market not the Aussie one
Also we're not talking international rules here, the kind where Australia is involved with. Gaelic football is done by the Gaelic Atheletes association, it's played between the provinces of ireland, and New York is involved with the league play. It's play with a round ball, and the tackling is more like basketball where you try to shadow the ball and knock it out of your opponents hand then in AFL where you can get rough. Only in the international rules does the tackling get AFL style. What else, the game play is a lot faster , since you don't stop for your marking, and the Penalities and substituions are more like soccer than AFL.

Personally, I don't believe him. The irgurus.com website hasn't been updated, and it's certainly not available in any stores I know about. Also, I would've expected sony.ie to have an update, as per the email I recieved from irgurus...

GAA mad - no idea! Thats the problem. Some of the retailers say this August. However, IRGurus told me that Sony.ie would be announcing something this month (July) - which gives them just over 1 week =)
Sony however haven't heard anything more from IRGurus - so your guess is as good as mine.
All we can do is wait now... and hope it doesn't get pushed back to next year (again!).

How Much Will The Game Be
Christmas sounds realistic for a release time. I'd imagine the game will be around the regular new release price. Sony Ireland are going to be doing a massive advertising blitz similar to what Sony Australia is doing with AFL. Promotions that sort of thing. So when it's coming time for the game to come out I imagine you'll hear about it over in Ireland. Sony want the game to help the last generation of PS2s so they will likely bundle it in a package I imagine.

I just filmed the promos and tv ads for the game last week (I played the part of the Dublin fan in the ad!) I was tryin to blag a free copy of the game but no such luck. Was told that the game will definately be out for the Christmas market so that the next month or two. The ad will be on tv from Aug 24

students there for a science fair, its like sensible soocer
for the Megadrive. I know it was only a prototype, but it was absolute
