48 hours of intense game innovation
What: Jam Session
Start Time: Friday, January 29 at 5:00pm
End Time: Sunday, January 31 at 5:00pm
Where: Powerhouse Museum, Ultimo
Over the weekend of Jan 29-31 forty game designers, developers and artists will volunteer to be locked away in the basement of the PHM and not allowed out until they have made a game!
It's Game Jam Sydney, part of the Global Game Jam that is taking place simultaneously in over 100 locations around the world. It's 48 hours of intensive game development with an aim to produce innovative and exciting new games. It's also part of the Powerhouse's "80's Gamer Weekend" so there will also be talks and presentations by some veterans of the Australian game industry, and some up-and-coming indy designers.

Some good speakers lined up
Some good speakers lined up for the event as well (taken from http://www.gamejamsydney.com):
"Speakers at the event will include John Passfield and Steve Wang (both veteran Aussie game developers in the game since the 80s), Jarrad "Farbs" Woods (Star of the local Indy game development scene, known for his 80's retro art-game "ROM Check Fail") and Nick Montfort (MIT Professor and author of 'Racing the Beam')."
Cheers,
Jarrod
Full House
So I didn't get into registration because it was packed! I know a lot are amazed, but I was more optimistic when the planners originally believed they'd be super happy with 40 people.
Anyway, I'll turn up to the launch event tomorrow night and the wrap up on Sunday. Meet anyone who's someone there.
Cheers,
Andrew
