3D Animator

Irrational Australia is looking for a talented animator to work on upcoming titles.

As an Irrational artist, you will be directly supervised by the lead artist and other senior artists who will review your work and determine if it is artistically and technically sufficient to use in the final product. In addition, you will be required to work with designers and programmers to ensure that your art is appropriate for the game design.

A range of experience levels will be considered for this position, including entry level and more senior candidates. However, all applicants must posseses the required skills listed below.

At Irrational, we use 3D Studio Max and Character Studio to produce our art assets. Proficiency in these packages is a MUST.

Required skills

strong character animation skills
knowledge of facial animation
ability to meet deadlines
ability to work and contribute effectively in a team environment
good communication skills
proficiency with 3D Studio Max and Character Studio.
General 3D modelling and texturing skills are a bonus.

As a 3D Artist you are expected to continue to refine your artistic abilities and may be required to learn new software packages and / or in-house tools.

cover letter
reel or CD of original character animation examples. Max files should be included.

Applicants for this position must be willing to relocate to Canberra.
