Introduction

At Hipster Whale, we're passionate about creating bright and funny arcade action games that appeal to broad audiences — games that players will continue to enjoy for years to come! We’re currently working on an exciting new release and are looking for a talented Senior Producer to join us and help bring our vision to life.

Overview

As a Senior Producer, you will play a key role in guiding our upcoming release from concept to launch. You’ll work closely with designers, programmers, artists, and other team members to ensure that milestones are reached on time, output meets the required scope and is of high quality. Your role will involve managing project timelines, facilitating clear communication, and ensuring that the team stays motivated and focused on our shared goals.

We are looking for someone Melbourne based or open to relocating for the role, and you must possess a valid Visa allowing you to work in Australia. This is a full-time, on-going position. Our team currently works hybridly, with a minimum of two days per week in the office (Mondays and Thursdays) and the option to work remotely from home on other days.

We support individual flexibility arrangements and will accommodate requests wherever possible.

We’re proud to have an inclusive work environment and encourage members of all backgrounds and perspectives to apply!

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and schedules
  • Maintain Jira and Confluence so that roadmaps, issues, and releases are defined and up to date
  • Identify and remedy areas where process and procedures can be improved to increase productivity, clear communication, and/or quality output
  • Be a strong advocate for the quality of our games and our team values
  • Foster a psychologically safe environment where team members feel comfortable sharing ideas, voicing concerns, and taking creative risks
  • Facilitate and actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in the games industry or similar, having delivered multiple commercial projects, ideally on mobile platforms
  • A deep understanding of core production principles and practices, including Agile
  • Advanced communication skills and experience working with all levels within an organisation, in addition to external stakeholders
  • Experience of using task management tools such as Jira
  • Experience working with spreadsheets
  • Enthusiasm for games and a good sense of humour!
  • Must be legally able to work in Australia

Bonus Points

  • Apple Arcade or console publishing experience
