Grease Monkey Games is looking for an experienced Art Director to join the team to help promote our motorsport titles.As the Art Director, you will be the leader of our team, responsible for overseeing the entire art department to ensure the game's visual elements reach the highest standard. You will be a key member of the game development process, collaborating closely with designers, developers, and producers to create a visually captivating and meticulously detailed automotive gaming world.
Working onsite in our beautiful studio in Brunswick, Melbourne is preferable, although we will consider interstate or international applicants for the right applicant.
Travel interstate and overseas may also be required for events and conferences such as Motorsport events and GDC.
Note: that this position is for a new and innovative blockchain / NFT title. Our team is more than happy to answer any questions regarding this during the interview stage.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and ensure the creative vision for the project is consistent across all areas of the game
- Ensure work in completed on time and to a high standard based on production timelines
- Collaborate with production and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on team workload and timelines
- Develop and grow the art department capabilities, using your expertise in management of large departments with diverse people and skillsets
- Contribute graphic design, concepting, and marketing art where needed
- Proven ability in effectively managing relationships with stakeholders, including executives, clients, and external partners. Able to understand their needs and expectations, align art direction with overall project goals, and communicate artistic decisions to stakeholders.
- Conduct regular one on ones with artists to ensure alignment and work with them to develop their skills and career
- Stay updated on the latest trends in game art, continuously learn and explore new artistic techniques and methodologies, and apply them to game development.
Requirements:
- Passion for Cars and Gaming: Strong interest and enthusiasm for automobiles and a deep love for game development.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, able to motivate team members and effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments.
- Creative Thinking: Possess a keen eye for aesthetics and creative thinking, capable of bringing a unique visual style and experience to the game.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the technical processes and tools involved in game art production, with some understanding of art asset optimization and real-time rendering.
- Ability to Handle Pressure: Remain calm under tight project deadlines and effectively address various challenges and issues.
Wage Range
- Negotiable based on experience.
