The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is Australia's most awarded 3D animation, game development and visual effects educator with campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Online. AIE has more than 26 years of commitment to delivering high quality, specialist vocational and higher education.
AIE Sydney is looking for a Game Artist with industry experience to come and join the team.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A passion for real time 3D art and animation
- Strong practical, up-to-date skills in Maya
- Experience with at least two of the following:
- ZBrush
- Substance Painter
- Photoshop
- Unreal
- Unity
- An enthusiasm to train junior artists in industry practices and fundamental skills so they become work ready
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Creative, positive problem solver
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise, assist and trouble shoot with learners on creative and technical issues
- Maintain currency of industry software, practices and pipelines
- Deliver course material using practical tutorials, lectures and individual support
- Plan, create and develop course materials such as lesson plans, tutorials and demonstrations
- Monitor learner progress including attendance, coursework and assessment
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 2+ years industry experience in game development or related industries
- Experience using game engines (Unity or Unreal)
- Relevant vocational qualifications
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (if you don’t have this we will work with you to obtain it)

Please note:
- This is a full-time/part time position with a 5-month probation period.
- Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
