We are Grinding Gear Games, BAFTA winners and creator/developer of the Path of Exile series, a dark and gritty ARPG. We’re growing and seek a full-time Character/Creature Rigger to join our team. 



        Location: Onsite in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand

Requirements:

  • Good general knowledge of Maya with regards to modelling, texturing
  • Advanced knowledge in rigging using the Maya rigging tools
  • At least one year of character rigging experience in a professional studio
  • Ability to create clear, non-destructive, user-friendly rigs
  • Knowledgeable in proper anatomy and body mechanics
  • Self-motivation and self-reliance; ability to research and learn new tools quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and time management
  • Positive attitude and able to receive and provide constructive objective feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment

Pluses:

  • An avid gamer with an understanding of our game, Path of Exile
  • Experience working in the game industry highly regarded
  • Experience in scripting and tool development using MEL, Python, PyQt
  • Experience using various simulation plugins like nCloth, bullet, pull-down it
  • Graduate of a tertiary qualification related to 3D art or any related courses to game design
  • Strong understanding of math
