We are Grinding Gear Games, BAFTA winners and creator/developer of the Path of Exile series, a dark and gritty ARPG. We’re growing and seek a full-time Character/Creature Rigger to join our team.
Location: Onsite in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand
Requirements:
- Good general knowledge of Maya with regards to modelling, texturing
- Advanced knowledge in rigging using the Maya rigging tools
- At least one year of character rigging experience in a professional studio
- Ability to create clear, non-destructive, user-friendly rigs
- Knowledgeable in proper anatomy and body mechanics
- Self-motivation and self-reliance; ability to research and learn new tools quickly
- Strong problem-solving skills and time management
- Positive attitude and able to receive and provide constructive objective feedback
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
Pluses:
- An avid gamer with an understanding of our game, Path of Exile
- Experience working in the game industry highly regarded
- Experience in scripting and tool development using MEL, Python, PyQt
- Experience using various simulation plugins like nCloth, bullet, pull-down it
- Graduate of a tertiary qualification related to 3D art or any related courses to game design
- Strong understanding of math
