The Festival includes a special opening night party on December 1, where you can meet the speakers and other industry dignitaries, followed by a packed 3-day conference program, including the Alias/Wavefront party and AEAF Awards presentation, on the evening of December 3.
We have dedicated a full day to the making of the digital cast of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Rob Coleman, Animation Director at Industrial Light & Magic and Oscar nominee, will be headlining this special day. ILM Model Shop Supervisor Brian Gernand, Technical Directors Daryl Munton and Indira Guerrieri will take you behind the scenes of this landmark film. Also, ILM Vice President of Creative Operations Jeff Mann will give an overview of the character design and production process for ILM's other 2002 hits including Men in Black II and Minority Report.
We're very proud to have a number of VIPs attending the festival. Jim Rygiel and Randy Cook, Academy Award winners for Visual Effects on Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring join us from New Zealand and Mike Milne, Emmy Award winner for Walking with Beasts joins us from the UK. Other notable speakers include Anthony LaMolinara, Animation Supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks (USA); Guillaume Hellouin, CEO and co-founder of digital animation and effects house Sparx* (France).
Bill Coleman, the Director of Global & Industry Marketing at Alias|Wavefront, will share his views on global trends and new markets for 3D Animation, while experts will deliver insights into cutting edge technology such as Apple's Shake, Discreet 3ds max 5 & Character Studio 4, Black Magic Design, Maxon 3D, ToonBoom Studio & Boris RED.
