Perception, based in Sydney, is a self-funded Game Studio in operation since 1995. Perception is currently developing a game based on a popular sci-fi TV series, licensed from a major film studio. We are looking for talented and experienced Game Programmers to join our team in developing top-quality PS2, PC and X-box games. To find out more about Perception, please visit www.perception.com.au

Requirements

? 2+ years game programming experience including experience on a shipped product
? Thorough knowledge and experience with C/C++, Direct X and Visual Dev. Studio
? Proficient in object-oriented programming techniques.
? Must have worked on at least one published PS2, X-box or PC game
? Experience working with 3D engines
? An all-consuming need to create fun and innovative computer games
? Extremely creative problem solver!
? Ability to work well in a team environment with schedules and reliable milestone delivery.
? Good communication/writing skills

Desirable Skills:

? Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
? Experience in 3D architecture and graphics programming
? Experience in cross-platform development.
? Capable of writing a highly optimised console rendering system from top to bottom.
? Low level assembly experience (MIPS, VU code)
? Working knowledge of character animation techniques
? Solid understanding of the underlying issues and systems in a networked console game.
? Experience making tools for artists, programmers, and production
? Knowledge of rigid body systems, articulated physics, collision detection
? Porting to new hardware
