THQ Studio Australia is a video game developer based in sunny Brisbane, Australia. The Studio has 70 employees and is part of THQ Inc, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software. THQ Studio Australia was founded in January, 2003 and in its short life has produced the hit titles Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies! and Spongebob Squarepants: Lights, Camera, Pants! for the Sony Playstation 2, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Gamecube. The studio has already begun work on its next title, Avatar: The Last Airbender, another hit Nickelodeon series. Combined with continued growth and development for the upcoming Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Revolution, the future for the Studio is a bright one.

Art Director

The Art Director is responsible for managing the entire Art effort on a project, providing support for Leads and strategic decision making, software sourcing, and administrating smooth operation for the art teams. This position will report directly to the Project Manager.

Position:-

? Set and maintain art quality standards
? Technical and tools development
? Develop software dependency strategies
? Develop and maintain studio visual contact points
? Regular communications with licensors

Requirements:-

? Extensive games industry experience, with significant experience as a Senior or Lead Artist.
? Proven ability to schedule in MS Project, defining tasks and managing progress.
? At least one published title and subsequent production experience from concept to delivery.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a methodical and patient demeanor.
? Proven ability in at least two of the following: 3D environment creation, character and/or prop modeling, user interface design, pre visualization, graphic design, particle FX, MEL script.
? University degree in Art preferable.
? Love of games and multiple genres greatly appreciated.

Lead Artist

The Lead Artist is responsible for managing the art team in production and refinement of assets. It is also their responsibility to allocate resources (both people and time) per project. This position will report directly to the Art Director.

Position:-

? Set and maintain art quality standards
? Develop and maintain style guide and art pipeline documents?
? Determine asset completion assessment
? Input into technology features and game design
? Manage day to day activities of the art team

Requirements:-

? Significant game industry experience with experience in a lead role
? Ability to schedule in MS Project
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a methodical and patient demeanor
? Proven ability in at least two of the following: 3D environment creation, character and/or prop modeling, user interface design, pre-visualization, graphic design, particle FX, MEL script/
? University degree in Art preferable
? Love of games and multiple genres greatly appreciated.

Senior Game Programmer

The Senior Programmer will be responsible for the implementation of complex game and tool code according to technical and game design documents. This position will report directly to the Lead Programmer.

Position:-

? Develop and code game systems
? Implementation of complex game and tool code according to technical and game design documents.
? Work with the Lead Programmer to design complex components and architecture of the game
? Responsible for the most complex systems in the game development
? Ensure high quality code
? Perform functional testing on their code
? Fix bugs

Requirements:-

? Game Programming experience on one or more completed titles
? PS2 systems level experience
? Strong 3D math background - Must be able to solve 3D math problems unattended.
? Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent
? Proven ability in at least one of the following: AI - Creating life-like behaviour models, Graphics ? Implementing advanced visual effects, Physics ? Enhancing game play with realistic interactions
? Strong C and C++ skills

Lead Programmer

The Lead Programmer is responsible for the management of all complex game systems and tool code according to technical and game design documents. It is also their responsibility to manage all programming resources including people and time.

Position:-

? Support the development of the programming team
? Define, implement and maintain the programming schedule.
? Architect and implement high-risk code development.
? Lead the support of designers, artists and sound developers as clients of the programming team
? Complete programming tasks in accordance with the schedule and ensure high quality code
? Perform functional testing on own code

Requirements:-

? Significant Game Programming experience on two or more completed titles
? PS2 systems level experience
? Strong 3D math background - Must be able to solve 3D math problems unattended.
? Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent
