Blue Tongue Entertainment, a video game developer based in Melbourne, Australia.

Game Systems Programmer



An opportunity exists for a talented programmer to join the Technology Team at THQ Bluetongue Entertainment. This is a unique opportunity to work on defining and implementing the systems code for Bluetongue?s next-generation game engine for Playstation3 and Xbox 360.



Job Role:



? Research and development of new technologies for Playstation3 and Xbox 360.

? Development of reusable systems architecture.

? Completion of programming tasks in accordance with the technical schedule.

? Functional testing and documentation of all code.



Job Requirements:



? Strong C/C++ skills.

? Specialist knowledge in at least one area of game systems programming.

? Strong C/C++.

QA Programmer

The QA Programmer will be responsible for developing and maintain various tools used by the Quality Assurance team. This includes the auto build system for all projects. This will involve the creation and maintenance of scripts, macros, build reports and the maintenance of required build applications and development tools (e.g. SDKs, compilers, exporters, level editors etc). This role will also involve the maintenance of the bug and task database application and associated scripts. This position will report directly to the Lead QA Tester.



Position:-

? Development of QA related tools (Some tools may be used across both Australian sites)

? Maintain the auto build system including updates to SDKs and other development tools, implementation of additional functionality requested by the QA Manager and Project Manager.

? Maintain the bug tracking system and scripts including the implementation of additional functionality requested by the QA Manager

? Maintain the tasks tracking system and scripts including the implementation of additional functionality requested by the project managers.

? Support testing staff

? Clear and concise communication of all issues



Requirements:-    

? Enthusiasm and knowledge of video games in general

? Programming experience (Preferred languages are: C++, C#/.NET),

? Scripting languages (VBScript, Game Monkey Script, Lua).

? Experience using Visual Studio.NET

? Game industry experience an advantage

? University degree in Computer Science desired



Technical Artist



The Technical Artist is responsible for ensure efficiency of the art pipeline and non-game-specific documentation and providing technical and art support to teams where appropriate. This position will report directly to the Lead Artist.

? Research and develop process and tools to support future art development.

? Understanding the needs of current and future game development as it relates to art; including shaders, optimal graphical performance and visual effects.

? Designing shaders and visual effects.

? Research and implement competitive production techniques.

? Work closely with all disciplines, but especially the technology teams.

? Identify and recommend software and hardware needs.

? Provide both technical and creative support to art teams as required.

The Animator is responsible for setting up and animating 3D characters generated by the art department. The successful applicant will be able to Creating world-class animations for organic and inorganic models. This position will report directly to the Lead Artist.



Position:-



? Character rigging and Character modeling when necessary

? Constructing bone rigs and painting skins for existing models

? Lip synching and facial animation for scripted sequences
