Great news for everyone who couldn't make it to Game Masters exhibition launch in Melbourne last week and envied all the tweets and heightened activity happening during the Game Masters : The Forum. The two-day forum was host to a whole bunch of developer talks and panel discussions including one to one conversations with international developer superstars, Warren Spector and Tim Schafer.
The panel discussions involved some of the local games developer greats on a range of interesting topics including "the state of the Australian games industry", and "The Australian Story" which delved into how veterans such as John Passfield and Steve Fawkner got into games development.
Voice recordings of *all* those sessions have been made available by Freelance writer/editor, Richard Moss, on his blog! Richard also included all the tweets he made during the forum which serves as a great list of highlights of the forum. Check the list of sessions and speaker details at fallbackplan.posterous.com, grab what interests you, and give him some thanks in return!
Hey, thanks for the shout-out
Hey, thanks for the shout-out. Unfortunately, I had to take down the recordings because ACMI are working on getting official footage up (fingers crossed they get all the necessary permissions). The tweets are still there, of course.
aww..
aww.. I managed to hear only two of the sessions before they were removed. They were great though, so I'm definitely looking forward to ACMI releasing the rest.
If anyone else needs a great presentation while they also wait, here's a great one by Luke Muscat / Halfbrick from this year's GDC...
