Emergent Game Technologies, the worldwide leader in 3D videogame engines, and Krome Studios®, Australia’s largest game developer, announced today that the two companies have reached an agreement to merge their middleware technologies and core engineering teams.
Under the agreement, Emergent Game Technologies’ products, including Gamebryo® and Gamebryo LightSpeed®, will be aggressively extended through collaboration between the Emergent and Krome Studios’ engineers. Emergent Game Technologies will be the exclusive licensor of the combined companies’ work driving a robust roadmap for cross-platform engines, world-class product support and advanced tool features.
The companies have also agreed to internally develop several cross-platform digital and retail products slated for 2011 and beyond.

Emergent Game Technologies
Emergent Game Technologies and it's tech is a dying development engine. There are a few studios in this country that have been burnt trying to make the engine usable. Looks like a sign of two desperate companies trying to stay relevant in a market that is rapidly moving on.

Good news for a change!
I have dabbled with emergent tech and it has potential.
I truly hope this partnership flourishes and encourages other companies to invest in Australia.
We have the talent and experience!
Come to Australia, it's awesome...
