The recent OFLC classification refusal of Fallout 3 has caught the ire of many local gamers, and while there have been meetings of the Standing Committee of Attorneys-Generals (SCAG) and some online poll, nothing seems to have eventuated.
Now, I'm not sure how successful online petitions are, but someone has created a new petition at www.ipetitions.com for those who feel strongly for the R(18+) games rating for Australians to head on there and add their signature to the growing list. From the petition...
It is important as we see the divergence of media that we bring the standards for video games in line with the standards for other types of media in Australia, as well as the rest of the world, will make the whole classification system in Australia a lot more consistent, fairer and cater for the people it is intended to protect.
As cynical as I am, and I
As cynical as I am, and I know this will probably amount to nothing, none the less I shall sign it because it'll increase it's chance of success *marginally* if I do.
