(from the Dissecta website)
Tuesday 24th April 2007 (ANZAC Day Eve), 6:30pm to 8pm, $5 tickets (see below), Q&A, some signed Puzzle Quest game giveaways, and complimentary aftershow networking drinks and snacks.
Steve Fawkner and team from Melbourne developer Infinite Interactive discuss their new DS and PSP game, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, which was released in North America in March, derives from a rich development heritage involving the Warlords series on PC, and exemplifies the new era of opportunities available with today's handheld consoles.
Gamespot says "the parts may seem commonplace, but Puzzle Quest's blend of RPG and puzzle-game convention makes for something refreshingly unique and dangerously addictive," while GameSpy has awarded the PSP version Editor's Choice. Puzzle Quest has also featured in two recent Penny Arcade comics. Should be a great night with the developers. With Q&A, some exclusive signed copies of Puzzle Quest to give away, and complimentary networking drinks, courtesy the game makers.
Tickets: all tickets $5, and must book via info@dissecta.com and pay by paypal; all ticket money received will go to the Alfred Hospital Foundation (The Alfred Foundation). And of course this event wouldn't be possible without the generous support of Infinite Interactive.
Would be good if they had the game for sale there... My local EB has never heard of it (what a suprise..) and I've been itching to get it on DS!
Will have to order it over the toobs I think.
sounds about right
yeah EB stil knows nothing i asked them a couple of days ago, but i read its supposed to be out on the 27th
You know, I encountered a similar situation when I tried to pre-order Quake Wars at Games Wizards (or Games as they're called now). They had no idea what the game was, and the guy behind the counter tried to search for it in their database but couldn't even find it. It was pretty surprising since I read that Games was on of only two game retailers that were accepting pre-orders for the game and they were accepting pre-orders since the 4th of April. :/
The fact that they they've never even heard of Quake Wars, and asked me to repeat the game title twice, was pretty shocking...
Anyway, screw EB games. Buy Puzzle Quest online at Gameswarehouse. http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au/longpage.asp?gameid=14434
Hey guys - Steve here from Infinite - apparently PQ has been held up in Australia by the OFLC. It is in the warehouse ready to go to shelves, but they've managed to slow it up until May 25. Why? No idea - it's certainly not because of any wild sex scenes contained in the game since it's rated E10+ everywhere else in the world.
So, sorry for the delay. It's a major embarassment for us that an Australian company can't get games onto shelves in its own country especially since it's selling out everywhere else in the world, :-(
Stupid OFLC, probably worried about some dual screen stylus hot coffee action.
For anyone who doesn't want to wait a month, you can try dvdcrave dot com dot au and get the US version. Currently out of stock though...
What? Another MONTH?! Jeez.
Empty shelves still :(
