REDTRIBE To Deliver Next-Gen Looney Tunes

Company

It has been known for some time now that Aussie developer REDTRIBE has been working on a Warner Bros IP, but now some light has finally been shed on the title in development, thanks to a press release by the big WB.

Coming to the Wii and the Xbox 360, the Melbourne-based developer’s title, LOONEY TUNES: ACME ARSENAL will be released come fall 2007, where players will be able to take control of their favourite Looney Tunes characters, like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tazmanian Devil, Foghorn Leghorn and more. Including support for cooperative two-person gameplay, REDTRIBE’s new cartoon-chaos is set to have Looney Tunes fans waiting with baited breath for this one. The entire press release from Business Wire follows:

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will launch the all-new action-packed LOONEY TUNES: ACME ARSENALTM videogame in fall 2007, starring the classically mischievous animated characters in a next-generation adventure for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Wii™.

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by REDTRIBE, LOONEY TUNES: ACME ARSENAL is an action-adventure game featuring seven playable Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tazmanian Devil, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Gossamer and a special secret character, all rendered in high-definition, next-generation graphics.

“LOONEY TUNES: ACME ARSENAL is updating the classic characters in engaging ways that will appeal to new generations of fans as well as the loyal fans of these enormously popular cartoons,” said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The game captures the great irreverence of the Looney Tunes’ humor and allows players to take the characters where they have never gone before with next-generation gameplay and graphics.”

Engaging in one or two player cooperative gameplay, gamers will find themselves immersed in fast-paced combat, puzzle solving challenges and vehicle-based action in rich environments inspired by the popular, outlandish cartoon tales. Players will command an arsenal of ACME melee and projectile weapons in outrageous battles and travel to various locations such as Camelot, Ancient Egypt, Mars, the Wild West, the trenches of World War II and more.

Xbox 360 version will allow players to fully utilize real-time physics and animation blending and Xbox Live? online entertainment network will allow for two player cooperative game play. Players will also be able to take full advantage of the gesture controls in fighting, spin attacks, smash attacks and driving on the Wii version.

I really like the new logo.
You wanted someone to say that didn't you #7.,

A bit of reverse psychology, pretend to be a sacked employee or something so we all start talking about how cool the new logo is. What, did you make it or something ?

Well anyway, whatever. It's pretty cool.

    Well, I like it :/

It's a big improvement over the old logo, that's for sure. And having a tribal design in the back fits their company name.

lol @ 9 and 12 - you're either a Red Tribe employee worried about the public opinion, or a very outspoken, naive individual...

    You're kidding right!!

It's obvious I'm not from Red Tribe, but thanks for calling me naive and outspoken. That's really big of you mate. I really appreciate it.

Hi Guys. I must admit that I don't sit at playstations all day but I can attest to the amazing dedication that red tribe have put into all their games they are developing. My sister is the COO of red tribe so I've had the privelidge of seeing Acme Arsenal in various stages of development.

We should all be applauding the successes of fellow Aussies in such an American dominated market instead of finding fault with a logo. No offence intended of course.

Last night, Samantha and Chris (Founders of Redtribe) won the Business of the year award. Good on u Sam and Chris.

    YOU GO GUYS
