Infinium Labs: Phantom Games

Submitted by inglis on

I was just looking at the Infinium Labs website to find out some more details on this new console- taking a look at the current game selection, 32,679 games so far!!

Just wondering if anyone knows about any of these games, or are they tetris and pong type games?

I would be really interested in this console if they have games like SOF2, WordofWarcraft etc- thats if it even comes to Australia.

anyone know anything about the games?

They're probably pis poor simple games like pong, tetris etc.

I saw a small hand held controller that you plug into the tv that played games (60 games) that was being sold on an infomercial. And those games were really piss poor. So I'd imagine that most of those games that will be piss poor, but decent fun for a while... Maybe there's counter strike in it?

Looked like lego men running across the screen.

There's been some speculation on what those 32,679 games would be of.. some say 1,000 variations of the snake game, 10,000 card games etc.. Some say since it's Windows based (I think? Maybe Linux), it automatically means you have access to all their games. :P (not sure how, since there isn't a cd/dvd drive.. maybe they're setting up broadband downloads of those with a paying system?)..

even it has great games- would it be likely to make it out to australia? seeing that broadband isn't that widespread yet.

a friend of mine who plays sof2 on australian servers said he has talked to the monitors and say the current console game servers hardly have anyone on them. i dont know how true that is.

Primarily I think they're going to target the home that doesn't have a computer in America, and then try to outreach to other parts of the world. I think even though Korea has a high broadband penetration it will be a very hard market to sell to since everyone there has a pc, and all the lan gaming that's taking place etc.

I think Australia would also be very ahrd to sell to because of the lack of broadband availability (connectivity?).
