Activity #1 2D - JohnN

Here is my first post (hope it works!)
I started with redrawing the figure, then played 'Dress-ups' with it. Total time for these added up to 3ish hours in front of telly.

...2 more hours and I got some colour added.

These are good, I like the idea of the first one (the semi samurai lady). Only crit is maybe some more detial in them as well as some more colour, but that just maybe a style thing.
Good to see another one finish this activity.

I felt that being a quick activity that I would keep the sketches fairly basic and try to create a 'visual synopsis' of each character rather than fuss with details.

If I were to do the activity over again I think that I might have done several variations on one theme rather than spread my thinking/drawing time across 3 different ones. I think this would have resulted in a more detailed finishing point, which inturn might have lent it's self to a more sophisticated application of colour (I don't mind the simple, bold colour. It has done its job of describing materials and form.)
