The HearaldSun has an article on the larger production involved in the development of AFL Premiership 2005, which publisher support from Sony has afforded IR Gurus.
"Developer IR Gurus Interactive has rebuilt the game from the ground up, revamping everything from the computer code to graphic animations and sound. The result, according to company director Andrew Niere, is probably the best AFL simulation yet...The number of computer programmers dedicated to the game has been boosted from six to 14."
Motion capture from two rookie players from the Sydney Swans provide 300 new animations for the 670 players in the game. Official statistics are expected to be included, from player details such as height and weight, to how many goals they've scored. Other improvments which include AI and gameplay, along with the DigiMask technology, where players will be able to scan their own faces with EyeToy for ingame use, will make this game a must for AFL fans!
** Just updated this news item with a correction. IR Gurus are working on AFL Premiership 2005, and not AFL 2006.

You should be able to start fights and if you win then the momentum of the game changes toward your team. You need to be able to create players also.

likely to be available for xbox and pc, but at this time the details can't be confirmed (just because of the grace period IR Gurus have with sony -- i.e. sony want to get a few months of exclusive ps2 marketting out there and having a xbox and pc will hurt their sales)

The release date has been pushed back to the 22nd of Sept as there is a major bug they have just detected. No Xbox version - PS2 exclusive for now.

As far as i know it isnt being released on pc or xbox.... why would sony want to do that. there is online mode up to 4 players or something. a new inclusion is the digi masking allowing u to take a photo on a eyetoy and put it on a player whether this is an existing player or created not sure.
as far as release dates go i heard soon, the 8th and 22nd although i don;'t understand why it has been launched if there is still a month til release.

just so everyone knows the true facts about a possible xbox/pc release. i have been imformed that sony has exclusive rights to the game and it wont b allowed for release on any other platform until 7months after the ps2 release which is on the 22nd of this month. sony have played this one very smartly and from a marketing point of view a grand-final release was the smartest option they had. lucky for me i own a ps2. unlucky all u xbox owners.
Yes, Sony have a exclusive period on the game. The period is unknown except those in the marketing position. Sony are publishing the PS2 version only, another major publisher will be taking over for the other two platforms, pc and xbox.
The publisher for the PC and XBOX versions of the game were originally hoping to tap in on the big time of year for games, the christmas boom, but IR Gurus stuffed that up with the delay on the PS2 version so will be most likely next year now.

Go and look up some trailers and clips for the game. Its not like all the others. This time it has loads of new features like the new girl match(fight of fantasy) buried alive and it has three levels of blood. For example if you got hit really hard when your already bleeding you start to bleed more. It comes out around the second week of november.
