Nintendo recently confessed that they would be willing to sell the 49% stake they had in the developer Rare to anyone interested such as microsoft. citing; Rare contributes only 1.5% of our profits today and the ratio is dropping. While no official announcement has been made by either Nintendo, Rare or Microsoft there is no doubt that an official announcement will be made regarding Rare leaving Nintendo to develop only for Microsofts X-Box. What this means for games like Perfect Dark 2 and other titles utilizing licenses owned by Nintendo is unknown. Unless Rare is able to buy the licenses the games will have to be changed significantly or scrapped.
