Game Connect: Asia Pacific (GCAP) returns to Melbourne in 2009

The Game Developers’ Association of Australia (GDAA), convenor of Game Connect: Asia Pacific (GCAP), today announced details for the forthcoming Game Connect: Asia Pacific 2009 Conference and Expo.

GCAP 09 will take place from Sunday 6 December through Tuesday 8 December 2009 at the Crown Promenade Hotel, which is part of the Crown Entertainment Complex in Melbourne, Australia.

“We are thrilled that this year GCAP returns to Melbourne and will be held in a spectacular new venue. We have every intention of making this the biggest and best game development conference ever held in this region and look forward to welcoming delegates from all around the world to join us in Melbourne this December,” commented Tom Crago, President of the Game Developers’ Association of Australia.

“Last year’s event in Brisbane was a huge success and we are very confident of growing this event further in 2009. Our industry is in the midst of a very dynamic period right now and we feel sure that GCAP 09 will not only have the development community talking, but will lead to the creation of new ideas and collaborations,” he added.

Some of the main topics that will be covered during GCAP 09 include core games, online, mobile, casual and serious games, along with new developments in art, technology and design.

Given the current state of the Australian industry I'm wondering what sort of turn out we'll see...

Thoughts?

Myself and our Technical Director, will be coming across. We missed last year (first GCAP/AGDC we didn't attend), so looking forward to this one.
