Interested in making games? Join us in the tsumea indie game development initiative.
For a long while, many people have suggested that we utilise some of the talents that frequent this site to start mods or collaborate together on game projects. With the rise of casual gaming and the popularity of small independently developed games (as well as the large number of tools and applications to make them), it feels like the perfect time to get a tsumea game development initiative happening with a realistic goal of producing and completing games.
What we're hoping to achieve here
- We're hoping to provide the opportunity and valuable experience for many to take part in producing finished games for the market place
- The sharing of ideas, knowledge and resources, and to build a stronger community on game development where we can provide feedback and help for others on what we've learnt in the process
What we're providing
- Exposure
- Website functions with private or public groups, forum, and java chat
- A private wiki for team collaboration
- Industry mentoring and feedback of projects
- (still researching) Version control for projects
- (still researching) Funding for tools and licenses
Who can take part
- Anyone of any skillset who is committed and feels they can contribute
- Graduates and students looking to participate in projects while looking for work (and there are many of you!)
- Industry developers with some spare time in their hands
What's happening now
At the moment one team is well off into their project. If you have any enquiries on what they're working or about joining them, give Bittman a message in the Team A forum on what you can do here.
We are currently looking to fill and organise two more teams (Team B and C). Post your interest, your skillsets, ideas and suggestions there!
Team B - (Smaller scaled casual game project)
Team C - (Larger scaled game project)
If you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback on the initiative, please post it in our general team tsumea forum section here!
