Stormrise, the futuristic RTS game by Sega Creative Assembly Australia, was on a live demonstration at the Leipzig Games Convention last week. The demo was conducted by a Sanatana Mishra, who apparently happens to be one of Australia's top Warcraft III players and is also one of the lead game testers for Stormrise. The 1up article reports that Sega Creative Assembly Australia didn't even know that one of their lead testers was such a revered RTS gamer who came sixth in the world at a recent Blizzard tournament, and bamo, gave him the enviable job of flying to Germany to show off Stormrise.
One of the main challenges of bringing an RTS game to consoles is making the game work fluidly with a game control pad, and Sanatana was on hand to demonstrate how units were switched using quick flicks of the analog stick on the game controller, and... holy crap, look at the size of that crab! I wonder if it has a weak spot you could hit for massive damage!
1up has a report of the demonstration with a fair few new screenshots to show as well (including one with the giant enemy crab), and they're also planning an interview with Sanatana Mishra, so be sure to keep an eye out for that!
