Renowned local gaming journalist, Jason Hill, has written a feature up for Digital Life on women in gaming. Jason looks into the growing interest in gaming by females, and the game market which mostly neglects them. Also making it into the feature are a few female game developers who share their thoughts on getting more females into the local games industry, of which men take up a 95% majority, through the "Women in Games" group...
Eve Penford-Dennis, an art tutor at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, has worked in game development for 15 years. She says that although most people in the industry assumed that gender inequity would eventually balance itself, "it never did"."It became obvious that we needed to do something," she says.
