Here's an event that nearly flew under my radar, kudos goes to to sceenplay for highlighting this. The 4th Australasian Conference on Interactive Entertainment (IE 2007) is on this weekend at RMIT city campus, and has grown from a one day forum to a 3 day conference.
The conference provides a forum for professionals, researchers and developers to discuss some of the critical and hypothetical frameworks for emerging modes and models of interactive entertainment.
This conference will focus on innovative emerging areas such as mobile gaming, pervasive (location aware) mobile technologies, the rise of social software and networks such as MySpace and YouTube.
This years speakers include Kurt Busch former Vice President of Product Development at Konami and now Studio Director at Krome Studios, and Robin Hunicke, the Lead Game Designer at Electronic Arts, within the Sims Division.
