Film Victoria is delighted to announce an expanded Digital Media Internship (DMI) program following four successful years of the initiative.
The DMI program will now offer 20 new places in response to recent growth in the digital media industry and the 98% success rate for ongoing employment at the conclusion of the internship period.
The program enables professional screen industry practitioners and digital media graduates to gain valuable on-the-job experience in a digital media company.
Through the 28 week placement interns develop their craft and technical skills as well as build their professional networks and experience. Interns can specialise in areas including 2D or 3D animation, compositing, programming, project-management/producing, special FX and games development.
For host companies, the DMI program enables them to expand their services and capabilities through the addition of an intern (or two) to their team. Host companies can represent a broad range of screen-industry related production including game development, post-production and animation.
Film Victoria assists host companies with funding of 60% of the intern?s salary, plus an additional grant of $4,000 for expenses incurred such as hardware, software or mentoring costs.
For interns and host companies alike, the DMI program is a fantastic opportunity!
