Student Numbers Strong in September Intake

Submitted by Bryn Giles

QANTM College has just commenced its final trimester for 2005 and the number of new students starting degree and diploma programs this trimester is bigger than we have ever had for a September intake, with nearly 30 students starting in the Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment and the Bachelor Applied Multimedia degrees and around 10 students starting the new Diploma of Screen specialising in Digital Video Production. This number is up over 30% on last years September intake. The September intake has always been considerably smaller than the February intake and always attracts a diverse group of students across a range of ages and educational experiences. Refreshingly for QANTM College there are a number of students, who started in September, which started studies at traditional universities at the beginning of the year but found their learning experience wasn?t what they expected and have subsequently seen QANTM College as a legitimate and viable alternative to the sandstone universities.

For those students returning from the break it is the business end of the year with Diploma and 2nd year degree students feverishly working on their projects so they can be completed for the exhibition and industry nigh on the 9th and 10th of December. There are also a couple of project groups hoping to enter their projects in the AGDC later this year. We wish all the students at QANTM the best for the remainder of 2005 and look forward to seeing the amazing project work as it is completed.
