XboxWorld.com.au has a rather informative interview with lead designer, Paul McInnes, about the long awaited Micro Forte MMOG called Citizen Zero. Along with the many questions answered about gameplay issues, classes, and weapons, are the new bits of information which are of great interest to someone who's been following the development of CZ for the last few years...
The great news is that Citizen Zero will be very much playable even with 250 ms of latency, meaning that most local players will be able to play with gamers all over the world comfortably. Due to our distance to the rest of the playing population, it was a worry that we'd be playing on near empty servers!
Another big question on everyone's lips has been about the rumour on Microsoft's (dis)connection with CZ, and the development state of the MMOG title...
"MF is still developing Citizen Zero. What has changed is that we are no longer developing the product for Microsoft as an exclusive Xbox title. That allows us to reach both PC and Xbox gamers. In fact, we developed the game on Xbox and PC in parallel all along (supporting the companies using our BigWorld technology)."
Micro Forte are hoping to have Citizen Zero out on the PC before Christmas 2005, with the Xbox release shortly after. Click the following link to read the XBoxWorld interview!
