Here's an interesting concept. Winning a game job, Pop-Stars style!...
"The competition launches with the June issue on sale in the UK from May 1, and gives the UK public the chance to win one of three jobs as a 3D animator, 3D character designer, and game-world builder. Readers are invited to submit examples of their work and enter 3D design challenges that could prove the first stepping-stone to a gaming career. The finalists will go through to a Pop Idol-style last round, with judges from the UK game design, new media, and publishing industries interviewing the contenders. Three winners will be offered full-time, permanent jobs with Electronic Arts in what will be a truly life-changing competition. Winners will also be featured in the magazine."
They should get a group of finalists to make a developer boy-band! That'll make the magazine sell more! ;) Read the story at Gamedev.net.
