Blowfish Studios is looking for talented Multimedia Specialist  (Technical Artists) to join our team! You can look forward to working with an amazing team of talented professionals, gaining professional experience in game development, releasing games on multiple platforms and working on amazing projects!

The ideal candidate will have experience in the video game industry, or an accompanying field, worked in a team environment, able to self-manage tasks, and is passionate about video games!

This job is ideally for a technical artist that spans Unreal and Unity however a high skill level in either is also valid.

Responsibilities

Create master materials in Unreal and/or new C# shaders in Unity
Complete R&D tasks assigned within a timeframe. Keeping focused on the goals of the task. Making sure that the time spent is worth the pay off
Generate rigged assets, iterating with animators, game design and developers on fixes, improvements and alterations as the assets are applied to the game
Create processes and tools that facilitate content creation with an emphasis on user experience and productivity
Create and maintain documentation on workflows, processes, and tools
Support artists in achieving top visual quality and performance
Proactively identify problems, propose solutions and work fluidly with other team members
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate to solve creative problems.
Identify and develop art pipeline optimizations and tools for new and existing production workflow
Have a focus on artistic quality while maintaining frame rate requirements and ensuring content is within memory and disk footprint budgets
Collaborate across disciplines to improve studio tools and pipelines

Requirements

Experience with one or more commercially available real-time engines
Ability to troubleshoot problems and support artists in getting their work done
Excellent communication skills, especially with regards to illustrating technical processes
Advanced coding ability in one or more of the following: C#, python, C++
Experienced with blueprinting in Unreal and/or creating C# shaders in Unity
Proven experience working with Unreal Engine and/or Unity as a Technical Artist
Strong knowledge of graphics performance optimization in UE and/or Unity
3D packages experience eg. Maya, Blender
Good knowledge of UE blueprints and or C# shaders
Comfortable using source control (Git or perforce)
