The world's largest game jam event, Global Game Jam, is kicking off in early 2013. While some locations for local GGJ sites are still being finalised, all are open for registrations! We have collected the details below, so if you're up for the challenge of an intense weekend of game development, be sure to get in your registrations right away!
The dates set for GGJ 2013 are Friday 25th January, 2013 through to Sunday 27th January 2013! Usually kick off time is Friday afternoon and ends on the following Sunday afternoon. What better way to celebrate Australia Day than to do something you love while fostering new friendship, and increase confidence and opportunities within the game dev community while you're at it. And hey, you get Monday off as well!
Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Adelaide have been organised for GGJ 2013, and you can find further details about these local events via the Global Game Jam site here!

1. Register at the eventbrite page.
2. Complete the google doc survey.
3. Register at the Global Game Jam website and choose your jam site.
IGDA Melbourne are also on the look out for a Melbourne Global Game Jam logo. If you're interested in submitting a logo with the chance of scoring a free ticket and most importantly, gloating rights, head on here for the details!

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment is sponsoring a sausage sizzle on Saturday night and a pizza party Sunday evening before the presentations. All other meals/snacks/etc will be your own responsibility. There is a small supermarket only a five-minute walk away open all Australian Day long weekend for you to purchase additional food and drinks.
