Freeplay Director, Paul Callaghan, provides the meaning behind the festival's "Chaos and Grace" theme and the areas that they wanted to explore this year...
We wanted to explore a mix of the chaotic systems that surround games as an industry and as an artform, as well as the moments of grace that arise out of that chaos.
‘Freeplay’s unique programming mix covers everything from the ethics of game design, games and theatre, workshops on app development and social media, and some of the best independent games from Australia and around the world alongside digital art and playful experiences that reflect the diversity of contemporary games.’
Freeplay 2012 is taking place in Melbourne from September 19 to 23. Tickets are available online now, so book yours now before it's too late!
