IGDA Melbourne: Film Victoria Funding tips

Location

When: Tuesday, 20 March 2012
Time: 6pm until 9pm
Where: The Boat Builders Yard in South Wharf

IGDA Melbourne are organising another excellent event for local games developers, and this is certainly one you wouldn't want to miss out on. If you're looking to secure funding for your game, then The Boat Builders Yard in South Wharf on March 20 will be the place to be as Giselle and her team have lined up some excellent speakers who'll provide some essential tips and advice on how to go about a successful funding application campaign which will come in handy for Film Victoria's next round of applications which closes mid-April.

The speakers for this event certainly do have some solid experience in this area, and here they are:

Ben Britten: As part of Tin Man Games, Ben has written successful funding applications and is now one of the assessors for the fund (yes, he’s one of the people you’ll have to impress)

Chris Wright: The Chief Surprise Architect from Surprise Attack has been involved in three successful funding applications in collaboration with his indie clients, and can give tips on this too, as well as what it takes to be able to access even bigger pots of money.

Chris Watts: Chris’ company, Play Bit Entertainment, has also been on the receiving end of Film Victoria funding for his recently released Facebook game, Puzzle Treasure

And of course, Film Victoria’s own Brad Giblin will also be there to answer your questions.

Spaces are strictly limited, so RSVP beforehand if you're definitely looking into securing funding in the very near future. IGDA Melbourne are promising a more general session of securing funding later on a more broader range of funding opportunities.

Please RSVP via IGDA Melbourne's Facebook event page, and if you have any queries, email giselle@igdamelbourne.org
