Game Developer magazine announced the 15th annual Front Line Awards winners last month. The Front Line Awards honours excellence and innovation in tools for game development and recognises the companies behind the tools that enable faster and more efficient game creation to advance the game industry. Nominations and winners were chosen by the readers of Game Developer and Gamasutra, so you know how highly regarded these awards are by games developers.
Taking out the Art Tools category and beating out 3ds Max 2013, Maya 2013 SP1, Photoshop CS6, and ZBrush 4R4, is a modelling and animation tool called modo 601 by Luxology. modo 601 is extremely affordable at only $1,195 (US), just a fraction of what it costs for a 3ds Max or Maya license, so it's fast becoming an affordable alternative for 3D artists in games development and visual effects.
If you're curious to find out more about modo 601 and want to get an introduction to the software and how it fits into games development, then you're in luck! Intraware Australia will be showcasing what modo is capable of with free seminars in Melbourne and Sydney happening next week!
(Intraware Australia) We're coming to Australia to showcase the best of modo - our modelling, painting and rendering package.
modo is a true end-to-end solution that includes sculpting tools, animation and network rendering. Come and see why it's the tool of choice for thousands of artists and designers world-wide in product design, architectural visualisation and visual effects!
It's free to attend but you MUST register before hand. Seats are very limited so if you're considering coming along, register to secure your spot as soon as you can!!
