Tapjoy launches the Tapjoy Australia Fund

Location

San Francisco-based mobile apps monetization and distribution services provider, Tapjoy, have launched the Tapjoy Australia Fund. Announced today with a company blog post by Tapjoy senior vice president of global partnerships, Chris Akhavan, the new fund aims to provide local games developers with significant upfront marketing spend, consulting, and analytics support. Successful applicants will be able to leverage Tapjoy's expansive platform to the world market where currently over 97,000 apps reward users for watching advertisements or installing cross promoted apps with virtual in-game currency or extra content.

Akhavan gushes some praise for the local developer talent and scene, and descibes how the Tapjoy fund and services can benefit them...

(Chris Akhavan) The Australian development community is one of the hottest, up-and-coming talent pools in the mobile space...

We want to offer Aussie mobile devs the tools, consultation, and resources necessary to bring their apps to market, reach a global audience and monetize effectively.

The Tapjoy Australia Fund has garnered some words of support from two prominent names in the Australian games industry, that of Tony Reed (CEO of the Game Developers' Association of Australia) and Morgan Jaffit (co-founder of Defiant Development). Both see Tapjoy's support, expertise, and platform as a great opportunity for local developers to push the reach of their games further on the world market.

(Tony Reed, GDDAA) Tapjoy’s reach and experience in the free-to-play space will be invaluable for our developer community.

(Morgan Jaffit, Defiant Development) There’s an incredible depth of indie talent in Australia, and Tapjoy offers an ideal way to monetize their applications and take advantage of the free-to-play opportunities in the mobile market.
