Stephan Schutze's phenomenal Sound Librarian is a high quality audio resource for any form of media production or for educational purposes. It's quite an expansive catalog of sound effect libraries which has been licensed by the likes of Electronic Arts who have it available for use in their entire studio chain worldwide.
Stephan has been an incredible supporter and member of the local independent games development community, and the fantastic news coming out this week is that due to the increased popularity of the Sound Librarian and the extra amount of processing involved, Stephan has decided to streamline things a bit and has implemented an easy solution for indie developers and small companies in Australia wanting to make use of the Sound Librarian for their productions.
If your project is expected to earn less than $100,000 gross and you're using less than 100 sounds from the library, then you're welcomed to the Sound Librarian for a small donation to Stephan's chosen charities. The donation asked is tiny, just between $30 to $50 depending on how many sounds you use, but at that amount, it's more than a fair deal for any indie developer and it's going to a very worthwhile cause too.
There are some conditions that need to be outlined, but these are fairly straight forward. From Stephan's post...
