Freeplay, the Independent Games Festival have just reached their Pozible crowd-funding goal today! After passing the halfway mark of their month-long campaign just a few days ago, Freeplay has reached the $4,000 goal of pledges which is a phenomenal effort by you guys, the attendees! There was a considerable boost in the last two days which was $3,223, but if you want to see some detailed stats on how the campaign progressed up to this mid-way point, then head on over to the Freeplay blog!
When we started thinking about crowd funding a part of Freeplay 2012, there were a few things we knew. We knew it had been successful for other events locally; we knew it was going to become a hot topic in the coming year (although, we didn’t expect it to go quite so meteoric); and we knew we wanted to use it to build a base to support projects beyond the festival.
Of course, there are still another 13 days left for the Freeplay Pozible campaign and more pledges would mean the organisers can do a whole lot more cool things for the festival. I know there will be a whole lot more than 70 people attending Freeplay, so if you haven't pledged your support, why not do so and get a whole bunch of awards in the process!
