The First Year Art Tutor will be responsible for teaching the Certificate IV in Screen at our Melbourne campus. The Cert IV is a strongly practical and intensive course that focuses on 3D modelling, texturing and animation that leads into either the second year Advanced Diploma level qualification for the games industry (a course we have developed ourselves after extensive industry consultation) or the Diploma of Screen. The successful applicant will co-ordinate and deliver the course content.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Delivering the course content for the Cert IV in Screen
? Handling first year student issues
? Monitoring student progress
? Updating and maintaining course content along with Senior Art Tutor
? Evaluating student coursework
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
? Detailed, practical knowledge of 3D
? Detailed, practical knowledge of modelling, texturing and animation using software including, but not limited to 3ds max, Photoshop, and Premiere (other software packages would be an advantage)
? Strong communication skills
? Industry experience not necessary (we have a very experienced team) but would be an advantage
? Teaching experience a strong advantage
This is a part time position (20 hours/week) with flexibility for you to freelance, and a candidate with the right skills can make it full time with extra duties (assistant teaching for our 2nd year course, or IT and library).
Salary $45K (pro rata) neg. based on skills and experience.
