Midway Studios is looking for the best talent in the business to work on exciting, AAA budget character based action games for PS2 and Next Generation consoles. Due to continued growth we are currently seeking a QA Lead and a QA Analyst.

Quality Assurance Lead

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading a team to find all standards-related and functional issues that could prevent approval of a game SKU by a console certification group.
  • Provides direction and guidance to a QA team, including Product Testing Analysts as well as Technical Standards Analysts.
  • Applies effective QA methodologies and best practices to help ensure the highest possible quality with maximum efficiency.
  • Works with the QA Supervisor to plan the testing strategies and tactics on a project and to determine appropriate team size and equipment requirements according to project requirements.
  • Works with the QA Supervisor to schedule and receive required project materials and documentation such as mission briefs, ?first playable? releases, alpha releases, beta releases, fix releases, etc.
  • Works with the QA Supervisor to create a comprehensive, effective and detailed Quality Plan and Test.
  • Reviews all reports and database entries generated by the QA team and ensures that they meet department standards.
  • Takes action to address any and all team behavior and performance related issues, and reports them to QA management.
  • Tests video games.
  • Essential Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience in a leadership, supervisory or management role.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in a technical field, from a two or four year university or technical school; or minimum of two years gaming industry or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work as a team player and interact with other department personnel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of one or more operating systems or platforms.
  • An extensive knowledge of gaming within the past decade, this includes games, consoles, and culture.
  • Able to utilize computer-based applications and tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, FTP, etc.
  • Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to define problems, and recommend solutions
  • QA Analyst

    Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading a team to find all standards-related and functional issues that could prevent approval of a game SKU by a console certification group.
  • Assures that products display and personify Midway quality and performance.
  • Responsible for following test plans, test procedures and test matrices as directed by the QA Team Lead (SQAA) and QA Supervisor in order to validate and verify Midway products.
  • Follows through on bug tracking and regression testing with minimal supervision.
  • Supports software development with effective and consistent bug finding and tracking.
  • Assists in the creation and updating of QA documentations such as test plans, test procedures, test matrices, feature reports, etc.
  • Works closely with QA Team Lead (SQAA) to develop and improve testing skills.
  • Maintains awareness of current manufacturing submission standards, technical standards and changes.
  • Utilizes project related software applications to improve quality and productivity in the development process.
  • Maintains awareness of current software and hardware trends and consumer expectations, specifically regarding computer and console-based platforms.
  • Essential Requirements

  • High School graduate or minimum of one year of industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of one or more operating systems or platforms.
  • An extensive knowledge of gaming within the past decade, this includes games, consoles, and culture.
  • Able to utilize computer-based applications and tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, FTP, etc.
  • Ability to define problems, and recommend solutions
