Good, cheap video cards

Im looking to upgrade my current video cards to a new one. Primarily one that will allow me to view shaders like STyle's skin shader, in realtime through the MAX viewport.
Admittedly, money is tight so i dont want to shell out too much.
Anyone got any suggestions?

agp or pci express?

Generic GeForce 7600 GT 256Mb =$125.50
XFX GeForce 7600 GT =$180
MSI GeForce 8600 GT 256Mb =$230.00

I got a 7600gs at the end of last year to run pixel shader 2.0b for unreal engine 3, its been pretty solid and it was cheap.

I'd put a little extra and get the 8 series... since its DirectX10 compatible, there isn't much nVidia can go from now in those terms, probably only raw performance... and it's good to have that, it should last enough to worth its money.
