Aussie Games Developer snapshot

Submitted by Brawsome on

Hey guys,

I was wondering what your thoughts were on the following idea: An Aussie Games Developer snapshot.

Basically what this would be is a monthly snapshot of what each aussie developer (whoever wants to participate) is working on, with potential release dates.

Seems like a massive job I know, and then there's getting the developers to divulge what they're working on without breeching publisher confidentiality, but maybe developers would be interested in this. I know that Aussie developers are usually among the worst marketed games developers in the world, with usually only the CEO, or in some rare cases a business developer spreading the word about who they are and what they do. I don't think any Aussie developers have a marketing department (maybe Krome?).

Anyway I'm interested to hear your thoughts. Is it too big a job? Would developers go for it? Would it be of interest to the public?

Oh, and as an aside, I took some notes at the last Dissecta, hopefully when I get a free minute I'll do a write up about it.

Do you mean a snapshot of all developers every month, or developer per month? I'm guessing probably all developers, and yeh, that's quite a task That sounds like a brilliant idea, and it would help us keep our games list up to date too.
