Sidhe Interactive on the PSP Platform

Company

Mario Wynards from Sidhe Interactive is the latest game developer to be thrown IGN's set of six questions regarding the PSP which include general thoughts on the platform, as well as development, budget, and improvement issues. It's a great read and Mario offers some great insights on PSP development for their titles such as Gripshift and Jackass...

Mario: The PSP is not without it's limitations, but it is incredibly powerful for a handheld. While you do have to make sure you optimize for the system and have to take the odd shortcut, having detailed physics as part of gameplay is very possible.

It isn't all about the PSP though, and IGN slipped in a question about the upswing in gaming production in New Zealand and Australia...

Mario: New Zealand has a strong history of pioneers and innovators across business, politics, science, sports, and now the creative industries. There is a real entrepreneurial spirit and "can do" attitude here that has seen us hit above our weight in a number of fields. This is probably due in part to our relative isolation, where we have needed to be self sufficient and have the opportunity to come up with the best solution rather than simply recreate what has been done before.

It's a great read, so head on over to IGN for the two paged interview!
